Singapore AR and VR Company: Custom Augmented and Virtual Reality Builds for Brands

Instamedia designs and builds AR and VR for Singapore launches, store openings, exhibitions and festive campaigns: WebAR games that open on guests' own phones, gesture and body-tracking AR on a big screen, and VR built into a custom viewer. Our own developers make the 3D assets, the software and the structure, and connect the experience to your lead capture and reporting. Prices are in SGD, all in, and no GST is charged.

Our AR work has already run in Singapore: Hennessy's Year of the Snake WebAR game was played by 5,680 people across Malaysia and Singapore. Our Singapore projects also include the Leica 100 quiz at the opening of Leica's Singapore flagship store. See our projects.

AR or VR

AR or VR: Which One Does Your Singapore Event Need?

Augmented reality adds digital objects to the real world through a camera. Virtual reality replaces the world with a fully digital one, seen through a headset or a viewer.

AR works for crowds: guests use their own phones, or a big screen reads their hands and body, so many people can play and share at once. VR takes one guest at a time into a fully branded world, which suits store openings and launches where you want a longer, more personal moment. Many campaigns use both. Browser-based AR runs on IMX Engine™, our interactive platform, and fully custom installations are built from scratch by the same team on IMX Bespoke™, our custom development service.

Formats

Four AR and VR Formats We Build

Each format comes from a real Instamedia project, with the numbers the brand saw where we have them.

A phone held in a shopping mall shows the Hennessy Year of the Snake WebAR running game, with the snake collecting gold ingots

AR: WebAR on the Guest’s Phone

Guests scan a QR code and the experience opens in the phone's browser, with no app to install. Hennessy's Year of the Snake running game reached 5,680 players across Malaysia and Singapore and captured opt-in visitor details for the brand's CRM. See the Hennessy game.

A guest raises his hand at the Nike Unreal Studio display as purple spheres roll away to reveal the apparel in 3D

AR: Gesture-Controlled Displays

Guests use hand gestures, read by motion sensors, to reveal a product in 3D. For Nike Unreal Studio by JD Sports, gestures rolled away clusters of spheres to unveil designer Masyadi Mansoor's apparel in 360 degrees, inside a custom-built structure. 2,673 people in 4 days. See the Nike display.

A guest raises her arm to play the Tiger Soju body-tracking AR slicing game inside the neon Gutsy Bartender booth

AR: Body-Tracking Games

A camera reads the player's movements, so arms and hands become the controller, with no wearables. At the launch of Tiger's Soju flavoured lager, players sliced flying fruit with their bare hands, with scoring and prize triggers built in. 100 percent merch redemption. See the Tiger Soju game.

A guest leans into the metal VR viewfinder at the Tommy Hilfiger store opening while the woman beside him holds the VR controller

VR: Viewfinders and Headsets

For Tommy Hilfiger's store opening at The Gardens Mall, Kuala Lumpur, we built a VR headset into a binocular-style metal viewer on a steel pedestal, styled to the brand's nautical set. We build VR in Unity, so it can also run on standard headsets when the brief calls for it. See the store opening.

Built in-house

Custom Builds and Integrations, Made by Our Own Team

We build our own software and our own structures rather than reselling someone else's product. That is why the same team can take an AR or VR idea from the brief to a working installation.

Built by Our Own Developers

Our in-house developers write the game logic, the 3D runtime and the branded screens. The Nike display and the Tiger Soju game both run on Unity-based software we built for them.

3D Assets Made In-House

Products, mascots and worlds are modelled by our team from your artwork, like the garments modelled from the Nike designer's drawings, or Hennessy's snake, bottle and lanterns.

Complex Integrations Handled

Opt-in forms, data capture, scoring, leaderboards and prize triggers are built into the experience, and the data can feed your CRM workflow and reporting dashboards.

Hardware Wired In

Motion sensors, tracking cameras, screens and VR headsets are integrated and tested in our Kuala Lumpur studio before anything travels to Singapore.

Our Own Structures

We design and build the booth, display or viewer the experience lives in, like Nike's structure with its opening door and Tommy Hilfiger's viewfinder on a steel pedestal.

Reporting You Can Use

The IMX Engine™ dashboard tracks plays, dwell time, shares, scans, leads and conversions, so the campaign report has real numbers in it.

Prices

How Much Does AR or VR Cost in Singapore?

Two ways in: a standard AR or VR build restyled to your brand, or a fully custom build from a fresh brief. Prices are in SGD and all in for in-venue builds. No GST is charged.

Standard AR or VR build From S$6,400

A ready-made AR format, such as a WebAR game or effect, or a VR experience, restyled to your brand on our IMX Engine™ platform.

  • Branded to your campaign
  • Runs at your event or online, with no app for guests
  • Plays, leads and conversions tracked on the IMX Engine™ dashboard
  • Typically 2 to 4 weeks from the brief
Fully custom AR and VR on IMX Bespoke™ From S$20,000

Gesture displays, VR viewfinders, custom structures and one-off builds like Nike Unreal Studio, scoped to your brief.

  • 3D assets, UI and sound built from scratch
  • A custom physical structure or viewer when the brief needs one
  • Integrations with your lead capture and reporting
  • Lead time 2 to 6 weeks, planned with you from the brief

All in: for in-venue builds, the price includes delivery from Kuala Lumpur, cross-border transport, permits and carnet, and our own crew on site. WebAR campaigns that run across several locations or markets, like Hennessy's in Malaysia and Singapore, are quoted on the brief. Planning in Malaysia instead? See AR and VR in Malaysia.

Where it works

Where AR and VR Work Best in Singapore

Product Launches

AR as the centre of the launch, either as a product reveal like Nike Unreal Studio or as a game with a prize at the end like Tiger Soju.

Store Openings and Retail

A VR viewfinder or a gesture display that gives shoppers a reason to stop, like Tommy Hilfiger's store opening.

Exhibitions and Conferences

A stop-and-play AR station that draws delegates to your booth at Marina Bay Sands, Suntec, Sands Expo or Singapore EXPO. See event technology in Singapore.

Festive and Regional Campaigns

WebAR needs no hardware, so one build can run across outlets and markets at once. Hennessy's ran in Malaysia and Singapore for Chinese New Year.

Brand Activations

AR or VR as one part of a bigger activation with booths, games and screens. See our brand activation agency in Singapore.

Projection and Touch Walls

When the whole room should react, not one screen. See interactive walls and projection mapping in Singapore.

How it works

How an AR or VR Project for Singapore Works

1. Brief

WhatsApp us the campaign, date, venue and audience. A sentence is enough to start.

2. Format and Quote in SGD

We recommend AR, VR or a mix, and send a real number in SGD, usually within one working day.

3. Build and Test

Our developers build the 3D assets, software, integrations and structure, then test everything in our Kuala Lumpur studio.

4. Event Day

Our crew brings the build to your Singapore venue with the permits and carnet, sets it up and runs it. WebAR goes live on our hosting.

FAQ

AR and VR Singapore FAQ

Instamedia builds four kinds of AR and VR for Singapore brands: WebAR games and effects that open in the phone browser, gesture-controlled AR displays, body-tracking AR games played with bare hands, and VR built into custom viewers or standard headsets. Our own developers make the 3D assets, software and structures for each one.

AR adds digital objects to the real world through a phone camera or a big screen, so many guests can play and share at once. VR replaces the world with a fully digital one, seen through a headset or a viewer, and takes one guest at a time into a branded experience. We build both, and many campaigns use a mix.

WebAR is augmented reality that runs in a phone's web browser. Guests scan a QR code or tap a link and start straight away, with no app to install. Hennessy's Year of the Snake running game ran this way across Malaysia and Singapore.

A standard AR or VR build restyled to your brand on our IMX Engine™ platform starts from S$6,400. Fully custom AR and VR builds on IMX Bespoke™ start from S$20,000. Prices are in SGD and, for in-venue builds, include delivery from Kuala Lumpur, permits and carnet, and our crew. Campaigns across several locations or markets are quoted on the brief.

No GST is charged. The SGD price in your quote is the price you pay, with delivery, permits and crew already included for in-venue builds.

Standard builds on our IMX Engine™ platform typically take 2 to 4 weeks. Fully custom IMX Bespoke™ builds take 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the 3D assets and whether a physical structure is needed. Tell us your date first and we will plan back from it.

Yes. Opt-in forms, data capture, scoring, leaderboards and prize triggers are built into the experience, and the data can feed your CRM workflow and reporting. Hennessy's WebAR game captured opt-in visitor details for the brand's CRM, and the IMX Engine™ dashboard tracks plays, dwell time, shares, scans, leads and conversions.

Yes. We build our own software and our own structures. Our team designs the booth, display or viewer, wires in the motion sensors, cameras, screens or headsets, and tests the whole build in our Kuala Lumpur studio before it travels.

For AR gesture displays and body-tracking games, no: motion sensors or a camera read the guest's hands and body, with no controllers, wearables or headsets. For VR, we can build the headset into a viewer, as we did for Tommy Hilfiger, so guests simply lean in and look.

Our team is based in Kuala Lumpur. Every AR and VR build is made and tested there, then our own crew brings it to your Singapore venue, sets it up and runs it. WebAR runs online, so it needs no hardware or crew at all.
