PICKLEBALL SENSOR CHALLENGE

For JD Sports’ Inter-Uni Pickleball Tournament, Instamedia crafted a custom sensor-powered pickleball game to let visitors experience the same competitive spirit of the main tournaments. Using real pickleball equipment, visitors must hit the targets as fast as they can within the time limit to rack up their score, fighting to get to the top of the leaderboard. The fast paced and exhilarating engagement attracted the attention of visitors, drawing crowds who cheered on participants which turned the booth into a focal point of the event.

DEVELOPMENT
Behind the Net
As the sponsor of the Inter-Uni Pickleball Tournament, JD Sport was looking for an interactive experience that seamlessly combined their brand with the sport. We delivered a custom-made experience with three interactive targets, a score display, and leaderboard, all designed for immersion and optimized to fit the space.

EXECUTION
Pre-Game Huddle
We turned a solid concept into reality by building the activation from scratch, programming LEDs and targets, fabricating the setup, and designing a score display that reflected JD Sports’ brand identity. The entire process was handled in-house, ensuring quality through hands-on testing and refinement.

INTERACTION
Ready, Set, Paddle!
Visitors jumped at the chance to play the game for themselves, grabbing a real pickleball paddle to hit flashing, fast-changing targets. A live leaderboard sparked friendly competition and built buzz around the activation, with many eager to take a turn themselves.

To mark their success in this Pickleball Challenge, visitors celebrated their victorious moment in our Instabox Photo Booth with a photo. Other guests were free to join in the fun, capturing their exciting time at the tournament. With JD Sports’ branding on the booth, interface, and frame, each printout was a personal keepsake from the event.

Instabox - AI Outfit & Vehicle Transformation
At the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026, XPENG's activation ran on Instabox, Instamedia's compact AI photobooth, with a customization flow engineered specifically for this show: each guest selects an outfit style, then a vehicle type from XPENG's lineup, and the AI generates a hyper-real portrait of their futuristic self with their chosen car and setting. This guest-driven outfit and vehicle selection runs on our in-house IN:FRAME™ AI pipeline, a depth of on-booth customization we have not seen any other studio in the region offer. Every interaction was tracked through Instamedia's live dashboard, giving XPENG measurable engagement data across the 11-day show: 751 printed photos and a steady queue of guests visualising themselves in the future of mobility.

For the Disney+ activation, IN:FRAME™ delivered an AI-powered K-drama portrait experience that let guests transform into personalised on-screen characters in real time. Visitors selected preferences such as gender, hairstyle, and costume style before receiving instantly generated cinematic portraits.Each output was printed on-site as peel-and-stick sticker cards, creating a collectible and shareable takeaway. Designed for high-traffic environments, the activation combined AI personalisation, interactive storytelling, and instant print delivery—turning every guest interaction into a memorable Disney+ brand moment.

Guests captured up to three poses, customised their photos with digital stickers, and received instant A3 newspaper-style prints featuring fully customisable Montigo branding, campaign visuals, and event details. Designed for high-traffic events, the activation combined fast printing, interactive engagement, and nostalgic storytelling, transforming every photo into a personalised keepsake that enhanced guest experience and extended brand impact beyond the event.
