Hari Raya Office Games and Corporate Open House Ideas for 2027

Quick answer: a corporate Hari Raya event works with three parts. Run one team game of 10 to 15 minutes. Add one station trail, such as a kuih tasting or a stamp passport. Send guests home with one keepsake, either a portrait from an AI Hari Raya photobooth or a greeting wall. Plan around food, prayer time and seating.

Ramadan 2027 starts about 8 February and Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls about 10 March. Open houses, or rumah terbuka, run through Syawal, the month after Ramadan. Google Keyword Planner shows about 2,900 monthly searches for "raya open house" in Malaysia in March 2026 and 2,400 in April, against about 90 in October. Plan in January and February.

We are Instamedia, a creative-tech studio in Kuala Lumpur. The games and run sheet below are ideas. Named projects are real ones for other brands, with the number from the project page.

Hari Raya games for the office: 12 ideas

A game raya (Raya game) works in an office when it has a clock, a team size and a single rule. Five have an interactive version, marked below.

A guest in a headscarf draws on an iPad sketch station at the KWAP staff appreciation event
  • Guess the kuih. Teams of three taste five kuih (traditional bite-sized cakes and sweets) with eyes closed, a point per correct name. 10 minutes. Interactive version below.
  • Best-dressed team. Colleagues vote for the best-coordinated team in baju Melayu, kebaya, batik or any outfit. 10 minutes.
  • Kuiz Raya (Raya quiz). Five rounds of five questions on Raya customs, food and company history. 20 minutes, teams of 4 to 6. Interactive version below.
  • Raya bingo. Squares such as "tried a new kuih" or "met another department". First full row wins. Runs all event.
  • Raya prize draw. Guests get a numbered card at the door, and numbers are drawn for hampers and vouchers. Free to enter, no stake. 10 minutes. Interactive version below.
  • Hamper grab. Guests who finish their bingo card pick a wrapped hamper item from a box. Runs all event. Interactive version below.
  • Congkak challenge. Pairs play five-minute matches in a knockout. 8 to 16 players. Rules are in the next section.
  • Pantun battle. Teams of four trade pantun, the four-line Malay verse with an a-b-a-b rhyme, on office themes. Malay or English. 15 minutes.
  • Team potluck. Each department brings one halal dish, labelled for allergens, and colleagues vote with a sticker. 30 minutes over lunch.
  • Photo mission challenge. Teams of five complete six photo missions, scored by an emcee. Finish at the Raya photo booth. 20 minutes.
  • Department against department trivia. Teams answer on a shared screen from their phones, up to 10 players at a time. 15 minutes. Interactive version below.
  • Lagu raya karaoke. Teams of four to six perform a lagu raya (Raya song) for 90 seconds, scored by applause. 25 minutes.

Permainan tradisional Raya untuk dewasa: congkak, gasing, batu seremban, goli

Traditional games suit adults as 10-minute stations with one rule and a clear winner. Run all four as a trail: teams of six rotate every 10 minutes, collect a stamp at each station and enter the prize draw with a full card. A host explains each game, so everyone can join in.

  • Congkak. A mancala-style board game for two. Players lift the seeds from one hole and drop them one by one around the board, aiming to bank the most in their home hole. Agree house rules first, as they vary. Winner: the most seeds banked.
  • Gasing. A spinning top. Give each player three spins on a mat or in a tray, after a two-minute demonstration. Keep spectators back. Winner: the longest spin.
  • Batu seremban. Five stones, or bean bags indoors. Toss one in the air, pick up stones from the ground before you catch it, and move up through picking up one, two, three and four at a time. Winner: the most levels cleared.
  • Goli (also spelt guli). Marbles. Flick your marble to knock the others out of a taped circle. Play on a mat, never on a tiled floor. Winner: the most knocked out.

Interactive Raya games we build: kuiz, prize wheel, kuih match, department battle

Five of the 12 ideas have an interactive version. Four map to our 18 interactive games, restyled for your Raya theme in 48 to 72 hours, from RM6,300 per game on top of a base fee. The fifth is a custom build. None of the projects below was a Raya event: each shows the format at another brand's event.

Kuiz Raya: trivia quiz

Put questions on Raya customs, food and company history on a screen or kiosk. Library: 2D and 3D trivia quiz, from RM6,300. Nespresso ran an AI quiz at its Vertuo Pop launch roadshow: guests registered on their phones, answered taste questions and got a capsule recommendation and a redemption code.

Two guests, one in a headscarf, smile as they show their quiz results on their phones at the Flow Festival 2025 activation

Result: 6,327 emails collected and 98% redemption.

Raya prize wheel

A wheel of prizes you set, such as hampers or vouchers. Nobody stakes anything, so it stays a prize draw. Library: the wheel game, from RM6,300.

Kuih match: memory game

Guests flip cards to match pairs of kuih, with the cards and look restyled for Raya. Library: 2D or 3D Memory Match, from RM6,300.

Hamper grab: digital claw machine

A claw machine of prize balls in your Raya colours, each one a hamper item or voucher. At Switch's iPhone 17 launch, our digital claw machine ran at Sunway Pyramid for three days, with real-time stock tracking. For a prize the guest can carry away, F&N's shake-to-win vending machine dispensed a can of Teh Tarik to winners.

Result: 479 prizes won over three days. See the Switch project. The F&N machine reached 12,857 people across 13 locations: see the F&N project.

Department battle: phone-controlled multiplayer

Staff scan a QR code and their phone becomes the controller for a game on a shared screen. At OTC Exhibition 2024, Wefic's phone-controlled multiplayer game let up to 10 people play at once, with a live leaderboard and no app. For Raya, run it as department against department. This was a custom build on our IMX Engine, so it is quoted per brief.

Result: 983 people over four days.

The base fee covers branding, data capture, delivery and a post-event report. Most of the 18 run on a kiosk we supply and crew, or online with no hardware, so staff at other offices can play too. For a one-off build, see our bespoke event games.

Corporate rumah terbuka: a sample run sheet (aturcara)

An aturcara (programme) keeps a majlis rumah terbuka on time. This 120-minute sample suits a lunchtime open house. It is a template, not a past event. For 90 minutes, drop the station trail and run one game.

Write the programme in English and Malay, and keep every segment optional, so colleagues of any faith can join the parts they choose. If the open house falls on a Friday, leave the early afternoon free for Friday prayers.

Buka puasa and open house planning checklist

A majlis berbuka puasa is a gathering to break the fast at sunset in Ramadan; a rumah terbuka follows after Raya. One checklist covers both.

  • Headcount and RSVP. Invite colleagues of every faith, ask for dietary needs, and plan food for the RSVP count plus a buffer for walk-ins.
  • Halal and dietary notes. Serve halal food only, with no alcohol, so every guest can eat everything. Rendang, lemang, ketupat (rice cakes in woven palm), satay and a kuih table suit most guests. Label nuts.
  • Prayer space. Set aside a clean, quiet room with the qibla marked and a place for ablution, and say where it is.
  • Timing around Maghrib. For a berbuka event, check the prayer timetable and have dates and water ready on time. Leave time to pray.
  • Family-friendly zones. A children's corner, and a quieter area for elders.
  • Seating. Seat the elderly first, and use a rope line so queues do not block the food.
  • Backup plan. A covered or indoor option for rain, and an early check on power and floor space.
  • Budget. A line each for food, venue, décor, games, prizes and a keepsake. An AI Hari Raya photobooth starts at RM5,500 and a ready-made game at RM6,300.

  • What to wear. Baju Melayu, baju kurung, kebaya or batik are common. Say that smart casual is welcome.
  • Duit raya. Money given in small packets, usually to children by married or older relatives. If your company gives it, decide who receives it.
  • Etiquette. Guests bring nothing to a company event. "Selamat Hari Raya" works for everyone, and a nod with a hand over the heart is a safe greeting, as not everyone shakes hands across genders.

Raya keepsakes: AI portraits and a digital greeting wall

The AI Hari Raya photobooth turns each guest's photo into a portrait in one of six styles: Klasik Kampung, Modern Batik, Royal Songket, Cartoon Avatar, Pop-Art Raya and Cyber Raya. Guests get it on their phone by QR code, with no app. Packages run from RM5,500 for up to four hours to RM12,000 for up to eight, with delivery, setup and teardown within the Klang Valley. The RM7,500 Pro package, with a custom style and a branded booth wrap, suits corporate open houses. See also our AI photo booth and photo booth rental pages.

For sizing, one Instabox printed 756 photos in an 8-hour day at Alibaba's SME Growth AI Malaysia 2026 event, about 95 an hour. Guests typed a prompt for each portrait.

A digital greeting wall (kad raya digital). Guests write a wish on an iPad, and it appears on a shared screen once a moderator approves it. This is an idea for Raya, not a Raya project. We have run the format for staff: at the KWAP appreciation event, 294 people created messages on iPads over eight hours, and a moderation dashboard controlled what reached the LED screen. A greeting wall is a custom build, quoted per brief.

Frequently asked questions

What are good Hari Raya games for the office?

Games of 10 to 20 minutes that suit mixed groups: Kuiz Raya, Raya bingo, a pantun battle, a photo mission challenge and department trivia. Keep any prize draw free to enter.

What games can we play at a rumah terbuka?

Games guests can join and leave: a station trail with a stamp passport, congkak and gasing stations, a kuih tasting and a prize draw. Keep one team game of 10 to 15 minutes for the middle.

How long should office Raya games run?

A team game should run 10 to 15 minutes and the whole games block 20 to 30. In a 120-minute open house, that leaves time for food, a prize draw, duit raya and photos.

How much do an AI Raya photo booth and a Raya game cost?

AI Hari Raya photobooth packages run from RM5,500 for up to four hours to RM12,000 for up to eight, with delivery and setup in the Klang Valley. SST is extra, and a 50% deposit confirms the booking. A ready-made game starts from RM6,300, on top of a base fee.

How early should we book?

For the AI Hari Raya photobooth, book at least 3 to 4 weeks ahead, because Raya slots fill up quickly. AI styles and ready-made games take 48 to 72 hours to build. A fully custom build takes 2 to 6 weeks.

Do you deliver to Singapore?

Yes. We build and test everything in Kuala Lumpur, then ship it and crew it on site. Ready-to-deploy formats take under two weeks, with rush available. An AI photo booth runs S$1,550 to S$2,450 all-in, and a game starts from S$2,100.
